High-temperature tolerance, corrosion resistance, and creep resistance make Inconel 600 pipe fittings suitable for roller hearth ovens, gas turbines, condenser tubes, and space craft. They contain about 72% nickel with sizable percentages of chromium and iron (16 and 8%).

How resistant are Inconel Pipe Fittings to corrosion and oxidation?

Above-par resistance to corrosion is a prominent trait of Inconel buttweld fittings. They can resist acids like nitric, phosphoric, sulfuric, hydrochloric, etc, and seawater. In fact, they often operate in evaporators used for phosphoric acid in wet processes.

An Inconel 600 stub end does not undergo oxidation even at severe temperatures: from cryogenic to 980°C or 1800°F.

Besides, these fittings show top-notch handling of high pressures and mechanical loads. The only flipside is that an Inconel reducer can be expensive and challenging to machine. High-speed and powerful cutting tools may be required, leading to more heat generation.
