The corrosion resistance of a UNS N04400 stub end is splendid – much better than conventional stainless steel. It can resist most abrasives, from water to salts, alkalis, hydrochloric acid, and hydrofluoric acid. Consequently, these fittings get favored in chemical, marine, hydrocarbon processing, and oil production industries.

However, the resilience of a DIN 2.4360 pipe bend does not match that of some alternatives like Inconel, whose tensile strength and capacity for handling abrasives are superior.
